Condolences. My father in law died of dementia a few months ago, was horrible watching him deteriorate over 3 odd years.

My condolences. I lost my mother to this, so can relate. I focussed on remembering my mum from before dementia took hold.
My dad struggled with this, as more recent memories of how she became were too embedded in his brain. Eventually I hit on the idea of printing off a fair few older photos of my mum in her prime. That helped to reset my dad's memories....mine too as well.
